How much will it cost?


We charge a one-off set-up fee of £249 and then just £49 per month. These fees will effectively be returned to you through savings on order processing costs and the marketing value of having a convenient on-line presence!

Why is it a good idea?

  1. With web designers’ time running at £500 per day, you are getting a store built for less than half a day of designer time.
  2. Maintaining a store, keeping the products up to date, and removing old products can take days of time each month – this is included in the £49 per month maintenance fee.
  3. Hosting even a small website costs at least £15 and more usually £99 per month, this is also included in the monthly maintenance fee.
  4. Fraud can affect as much as 5% of an online store’s sales – CU takes all the losses and the store owner has no risk.
  5. Many of the transactions require a telephone call or email with a person to resolve an issue. This could cost store owners many hundreds of pounds every month. We include this service in our maintenance fees.
  6. The selection of products is meant to offer a wide range of products for customers in the Creative Professional, Digital Home and Apple markets only. It isn’t meant to be a complete catalogue of every IT product ever invented. Given the economics above, it is a very good deal.

A. A Hosted Store is an economical and easy way for you to have your own professional-looking on-line catalogue and e-commerce store. A Hosted Store

    contains your own branding, enabling your customers to browse, research and buy more than 2,000 products from you, 24/7. Your customers can pay for

    their order with a credit card.

A: The Store contains thousands of products, providing an attractive catalogue of both software and hardware for Creative Professionals, Apple users

     (Macintosh and iPod) and the Digital Home. It’s the job of our in-house Product Managers to maintain information about the whole range. When a new

     product or version is announced, we’ll have the information live on the site immediately, saving you any maintenance headaches.

Q: Can I add my own products to the Hosted Store?

A: Sorry, not directly. We aim to ensure that Hosted Stores offer a very attractive catalogue of both software and hardware for Creative Professionals, Apple

     users (Macintosh and iPod) and the Digital Home. You can also supplement this catalogue through your own website and sell directly in your normal way.

     However, if there is a specific product that you believe would work well on the Hosted Stores, we would love to hear from you. Unfortunately, due to the

     economies of scale, we cannot add a specific product to only one Store. Please email general@unlimited.com with your ideas, or speak to your account

A: We have a number of logistics partners that are contracted to deliver the goods that are on the Hosted Stores. We will ensure that products are delivered

    depending on the stock holding displayed on the screen at the time of ordering .

Q: Can Goods from my Hosted Store be sent directly to customers abroard?

A: We will only ship to UK customers.

Q: What happens if my customer doesn’t receive their product?

A: If your customer pays with a credit card, we manage the entire transaction, including delivery. There will usually be a link to a ‘track and trace’ system on

    the shipping confirmation, allowing your customer to follow the progress of their shipment. If after that it doesn’t arrive, your customer should contact our

    Customer Service directly on 020 8358 6664, quoting the order confirmation number that will have been emailed to them. This is all part of our service to you.

Q: What happens if I have a query setting up my Hosted Store?

A: It is possible to change all prices on your Hosted Store. Initially, our prices are set to SRP and it is up to you to change the prices, making them cheaper or

     more expensive according to your business goals.

Q: How much business will the store generate?


A: The amount of business generated by the Store is largely up to you. It depends on the amount of effort you put into promoting it and how much you

     encourage your customers to use it! Creating numerous links on your site to your Hosted Store, promotion on your stationery, staff referring lower value

     orders to your online Store and the use of web techniques will all help to drive sales. The easiest way to promote the Store is simply by 'email blasting' your

     customer database. Once you get the traffic to the Store, it will seamlessly process your orders for you, freeing up your sales people's time and enabling

     them to concentrate on high value sales solutions that require a more hands on approach.

Q: What margin can I expect to earn?

A:This depends on many factors such as the pricing that you may have adjusted your prices to, the sales mix of products sold and the market that you

    operate in.

A: A weekly and/or monthly transaction report can be sent to any email address within the dealership you specify. This provides full details of all products

     purchased, plus corresponding customer information such as name, address, email address etc. (If you want, your Sales Manager can then allocate each

     sale taken through the Store to your respective sales person and include these in his or her sales targets, ensuring the relevant commissions are paid.)


Q: How is this set up?

A: Unique Store URL allows you to track credit card orders to your individual sales people. The URL is made up of the actual store URL and the initials of the

     relevant sales person - e.g. Gillian Green's Unique Store URL would be:

     http:///www.transaction-one.com/gs/html/h/hs/en/home.jsp?pubid=1569&afl=GG1

      As you can see, the URL ends in GG1 and is specific to Gillian Green. All sales generated through this URL will be accredited exclusively to her sales

      target!
      Please note that this method of tracking can also be used for online marketing tracking for return on investment (ROI).

Q: How do I get paid for credit card sales?

A: You’ll be emailed a detailed statement once a month, including full details of every customer who has purchased; the products purchased; the prices paid;

     your commission per item and your total profit. Your account will be automatically credited with the monies due.

Q: Will I be liable for chargebacks and fraudulent credit card activity? > Back to top


A: No. We assume all the risk on credit card transactions, ensuring your peace of mind. However, please note that there is a 2.5% transaction fee on all credit

    card transactions to cover both the card’s fees to us and fraud. This is deducted from your earned commission. We would not pay you commission on any

    chargebacks that we incur on goods sold due to fraud.

Q: How secure are the Hosted Stores?

A: Our Stores are very secure and resilient. We use 128 bit data encryption. All personal and credit card data is held on servers not connected to the Internet.

     All data between web servers and back office is transferred over private networks - not the Internet. All servers are extensively firewalled and

     continuously monitored for intrusions .

Q: How does my Hosted Store connect into my site?

A: We will build your Store and then issue you with a 'short' URL. This would then be available for you to insert into your site. The more links there are from

     your homepage to your Store, the more prominent and accessible the Store become for your users.

A: We provide you with full reporting of transactional/sales data and traffic through the Store. This is available to you online 24x7 through a password secure

     link that you will receive when your Store goes live.

Q: What delivery charges do my customers have to pay?

A: Our delivery charges vary based on the speed of service chosen (Express, Normal) and in some cases geographic distance (Northern Ireland, Scottish

     Islands), subject to revision from time to time in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Q: Can my customers order on their usual account?


A: No your customer cannot order on their usual account. This functionality was available for the first two years of the hosted store programme lifespan but

    as demand was low for this functionality, it was recently removed as a part of our site clean up.

Q: What do I get for my money?

A: You will get a fully automated Store that is updated daily with new products and new releases of existing products, complete with images, product

     specifications and pricing! The Store homepage is also updated regularly, featuring hot new products and special offer deals to ensure your customers

     keep coming back. You can have confidence that your site will be up and running 24/7 and taking orders even when your retail outlet/office is closed.

Q: Why should I sign a Direct Debit for the store?

A: Our policy for all Stores is that the maintenance charge is taken by Direct Debit. The main advantage for you is that in return we will pay your commissions

     straight into your account! Prompt payments all round.

A: One year. There is a three month rolling termination clause after the initial one year period.

Q: How long does it take to set up a Hosted Store?

A: We will create your Hosted Store within 10 working days of receiving the Hosted Store contract, Direct Debit form and details of your Store branding.
